Blueberry-Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

If you're lactose intolerant or dairy products upset your stomach, you can substitute lactose-free milk for the low-fat milk. The amount of oats in this recipe can be increased. Because the oats affect the texture, start with 1 tablespoon, and add more as you develop a taste for it.

  • 1 tablespoon old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 ripe banana, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries, raspberries, or other fruit
  • 1 (6-ounce) container blueberry, strawberry, or vanilla low-fat yogurt
  • 1/2 cup low-fat milk or lactose-free milk
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey
  • Pinch ground cinnamon


  1. In a blender, purée the oats. Add the banana, blueberries, yogurt, milk, 1 tablespoon of the honey and cinnamon. Blend until smooth. If needed, add the remaining tablespoon of honey.
